All of our fabric choices have been organically grown as organic fabric has significant benefits:
• It’s not grown with the use of chemicals such as pesticides or fertilisers.
• Your child’s skin won’t absorb harmful chemicals.
• It’s softer and safer for your child’s skin as the fibres are much longer compared to regular cotton.
• It’s hypoallergenic so it won’t cause skin irritation for children with skin issues or sensitiveness.
• Organic cotton is more durable than regularly grown cotton as the fibres are not damaged by chemicals.
• Once organic cotton is put in a compost bin it can decompose within a few weeks.
• Organic cotton is better for the environment, ensuring little harm to humans, farmland and the ecosystem as a whole.
• As it’s grown without harmful chemicals it leaves the soil, air and water free from contaminates that cause harm.
• Organic cotton produces around 46% less CO2e compared to conventional cotton. It also uses far less water to grow since organic cotton growers typically utilise rain far more than irrigation.
We use low-impact dyes that are free from toxic chemicals, require less rinsing when dying the garments and have a higher than average absorption rate.
Low impact dyes are classified by Oeko-Tex Standard 100 as eco-friendly. This means less water is required in the rinse process and less dye runs off in the water; therefore, the dyes have a lower impact on the environment.
We have worked hard to ensure our collections are chemical-free and the safest for your little ones but also the workers who are dying the fabrics as it is just as important to ensure that they do not come into contact with harsh chemicals during the manufacturing process.
All of our packaging is 100% compostable and recycled.
• Our garment bags & mailer bags are 100% compostable either at home or commercially. They conform to European compostable standard EN13432.
• All of our stickers are made from recycled paper.
- Our stamp uses soy-based inks to ensure no petroleum is left behind when decomposing.
By having compostable packaging bags we go that one step further by providing the earth with nutrients once the material has completely broken down leaving behind no toxic residue.
We follow ethical working practices, which we consider to be human and eco-friendly methods of textile manufacturing. We do this to protect the health of your child, the employees who make the garments and our planet.
The manufacturers we have chosen to work with are Asia’s leading ethical-verified custom clothing manufacturers. All of their employees are paid fairly, their welfare is cared for, they work in safe environments, they are treated with respect and they use fabrics and dyes that are non-toxic when handling them - for example low-impact dyes, natural plant-based dyes and organic fabrics.
To top it off they are a female-owned business!
